difficulty getting a job as an lpc associate (tx)

Rant - No advice wanted :snoo_shrug:

hi. I simply want to express my frustration and disappointment with the field I chose and how difficult it’s been to get a job that’ll keep me afloat financially. While I only received my associate license in May, I think that’s been more than enough time to realistically find something, but that hasn’t been the case. My current job is a dead end, has been depleting my mental health the longer I stay here, and not counseling related so I’m just there for a check to pay my car bill and student loans. I look into associate positions everyday for hours on end hoping that out of the handful of jobs I apply to, at least one will work out. That hasn’t been the case (clearly). I am trying to relocate to a new city (yes I am aware that bigger cities are more saturated) but even that is hard to do with no job opportunities. I don’t want to sound naive or like I’m just complaining but…why isn’t anything in place with the licensing boards or something to help out lpc-a’s entering the field?? At least with accruing hours or getting a job that has livable pay. I feel resentment towards everything these days, especially my field that I haven’t even had the chance to enter, the program I graduated from for not warning me about how hard it would be, the job listings that shoo associates away from applying or even thinking about doing so, and myself for choosing this route. I don’t know what to do anymore, I’m tired of trying, and all I want to do is quit my current job and get a do over.

This probably sounds like a giant breakdown but I truly do not know what else I can do. Ik the flair says no advice wanted but feel free to give any if you’d like.
