The shy healthy kitten, or the outgoing not so healthy one?

Advice

Here's the situation: my cat at home is 15. She's a young 15, still plays and loves going on adventures and even vacation. Her siblings both passed recently and I am looking for another cat as she is quite lonely. My leading two are:

A one eyed, shy kitten who loves other cats. She's very sweet but can be skittish. She is definitely young enough to turn around. This rescue is very attentive to their cats and they all were healthy looking. Those who were sick were being treated.

A very, very outgoing, bubbly older kitten who is a little skinny but coming from a shelter where the room she is in has numerous sick kittens. Diarrhea, upper respiratory illness, and one kitten was leaking mucoid diarrhea without being aware of it.

I loved the outgoing kitten. She would definitely be a plug and play into my cat's life. But I am so afraid of what is going on in that shelter, and even with quarantine I'm scared of the risks depending on what that room might have. I would also be setting myself up for immediate vet bills beyond what I already plan (fecal and repeat snap test with exam).

If you were in my shoes, what would you do? I very much doubt this shelter would quarantine this kitten for us.
