Exclusive Right to Represent Tenant Agreement
Found a listing for a studio apartment, I tried contacting the realty agency directly but had little to no luck, and I can't set up a showing on the website because it asks for a real estate agent license number. I requested info for the place on RE/MAX website directly, and immediately got a call back from an agent. He asked me to sign an Exclusive Right to Represent Tenant Agreement. I'm a little suspicious that I have to sign a retainer document just to view an apartment (it's not in a large complex, it's part of a condo association), should I be concerned? He says it's standard in this area, and doesn't mean I'll be on the hook for anything, but I'm still confused as to what the purpose of this agreement is.
