Signed up for the full marathon, but turns out that date will be problematic for me. The half on Saturday would be fine, plus far easier for me to train for, but it sold out and they told me I'm SOL as far as transferring unless I want to do the half. It's mind-boggling that they don't allow bib transfers of any kind, I can't figure out the reasoning behind that since other races do this.

Is the 8k worth it? I've never run any Philly Marathon weekend course before. This is the only event that's open, but it seems to just be a run up and down Kelly Drive which is fine but I've run that exact course several times lol. Trying to decide if I should just switch to this one, or defer to next year

Hello,

My partner and I are planning on driving up from the US to visit Montreal for 4 nights before heading up to Quebec City. We'd like to stay in Le Plateau at a boutique hotel, and the one we're looking at seems to have alley parking behind it. Its hard to get a good gauge on how bad the car theft problem in Montreal really is, or if the issue is overblown. My car isn't particularly nice or valuable, and I have a steering wheel lock, but slightly worried the US plates will make it a prime target. Should I be paranoid and keep it in an underground garage somewhere else? I don't really plan to use it much if at all once we're there, primarily because I don't speak French and driving aroun

I bought a new 1.6 cubic ft minifridge off Amazon, and it has a persistent smell coming from it after it's been running for a little while. It smells somewhat chemical or like plastic. It works fine, though, so I don't think it's a refrigerant leak or anything like that. The smell transfers to food if I keep it in there, so I've only been putting sealed drinks or tupperware in it. It seems like it could be off-gassing from the plastic inside, but I've had it for 3 weeks and let it air out while turned off more than once, including for 3 days last week, and it still persists.

Is it possibly off-gassing still, and I just need to wait awhile, or should I get it replaced? Never owned a fridge b

In the market for a used car now as my car was just totaled. Saw a 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage with 114k miles on it at CarMax.. Mileage is pretty high, but CarMax has the MaxCare plan which was good to me in the past when I bought a car from them. Thinking that the care plan would offset some concerns about reliability and high mileage. This car is for $11k, plus some more for the care plan. Carfax shows 2 previous owners, no accidents, owned in Maryland (near where I am).

Then, I went on Enterprise Car Sales to see what they had, and lo and behold, same make and model as the one that caught my eye at CarMax, but newer (2021 Mirage hatchback), and with only 51k miles on it! It's $12k plus fees.

Found a listing for a studio apartment, I tried contacting the realty agency directly but had little to no luck, and I can't set up a showing on the website because it asks for a real estate agent license number. I requested info for the place on RE/MAX website directly, and immediately got a call back from an agent. He asked me to sign an Exclusive Right to Represent Tenant Agreement. I'm a little suspicious that I have to sign a retainer document just to view an apartment (it's not in a large complex, it's part of a condo association), should I be concerned? He says it's standard in this area, and doesn't mean I'll be on the hook for anything, but I'm still confused as to what the purpose

Day after

It's Mental

What's the day after your first marathon (or any marathon) like? I'm running the Philly marathon on a sunday, and was planning to either drive or take Amtrak back home to DC on Monday evening and work on Tuesday (job does not require me to be on my feet). How long did it take you to become a fully functional human being again after running 26.2 miles?

28M, no known conditions, physically active and light drinker.

Noticed this in the shower yesterday morning. Not a bruise, doesn't lighten when pressed, and doesn't hurt at all or feel any different than the skin around it. I had a mildly low platelet count at my last physical if that means anything. What could it be and do i have any reason to be worried?
