Ok .. tell me what you think
Running an old system from 1987, which I am very proud of. The old girl, a softener and neutralizer, still runs. Concerns about the age of the system, and I should upgrade for the sake of replacement parts. Attached is a pic (I was working on the timer, thus cover is off).
Assume it's wise? It still softens the water, just had a test done today. Nobody will rebed it as they are concerned about stuff breaking.
New system is quoted at $4,500:
Big Blue 4x10 Sediment Filter (I don't have this today)
10x54 Acid Neutralizer with Clack WS1 digital valves
9x48 Water Softener with Clack WS1 digital valves
$4,500 is pro installed, warranty, and includes running a drain pipe outside for the wastewater (yeah, no drain in the current room, old unit has a hole in the floor and it drains .. I would like to avoid that).
Thoughts?
Should I keep the old 1987 system cranking or a decent price on the new unit?
