This last year, Im not sure i can take another.
Became really ill 3 years ago, and have had a long recovery path to today.
Part of that recovery was learning to live with an ostomy, something my wife couldn't do; she left me after a 10-year marriage, 15 years together and a move across the pond.
Before leaving me, she had been spending all of our income on pointless and petty things, like 'minerals' (rocks) from China (think those geodes and stuff you see in hippy stores), and thousands on training as sme form of new age healer. She goes from being an atheist to a full-on pagan.
I found out that the ostomy is permanent now. My illness and recovering self reminded her too much of death; apparently, that brings too much dark energy to her 'magics'.
We'd just bought a house two years before, the first time ive lived anywhere where im not at risk of being made homeless, first time purchase in our 40's for north of a 3/4 million, we saved a significant cash deposit.
Disabled me gets over it she's still living here till the house sells, still married, so she doesn't lose her right to stay, but refuses to help me in any way. I get by, the women i dedicated my soul too can barely look at me let alone be in the same room as me.
I learn to live alone. Further complications now mean I can't really stand more than 30 seconds without extreme pain, 4-6 year waiting list for surgery.
Now, cut to September, we both lose our jobs, she decides to go back home, leaving me with a heavy mortgage I can't pay, but neither is the house selling.
And just today i managed to fumble an almost certain new job in one of the slowest hiring markets seen in decades.
In one year i lost my health, my wife, my job, my house.
I thought i had nothing left to lose, yet here i am, mid 40s no friends, no job, no home, I have the energy to recover from one blow, but blow after blow, dude i just cant begin to stand up again.
