TODAY: Daura Gold (DGC.v) Secures Option to Earn Up to 80% in High-Grade Cerro Bayo & La Flora Gold-Silver Projects, Argentina
Today, Daura Gold (DGC.v) announced a binding letter agreement with Latin Metals (LMS.v LMSQF) for up to an 80% interest in the Cerro Bayo and La Flora gold-silver projects in Argentina’s prolific Deseado Massif district, Santa Cruz Province.
Strategic Expansion into the Deseado Massif
President Mark Sumner stated that while DGC continues advancing its flagship Antonella Project in Peru, this agreement adds exposure to a world-class gold-silver district, home to Newmont’s Cerro Negro and Hochschild’s San Jose mines.
The move aligns with DGC's focus on high-grade epithermal gold-silver systems across proven mineral belts.
Project Highlights
- Located in the heart of Argentina’s top precious metals district, responsible for 600+ Moz silver and 20+ Moz gold since 1990
- Defined 6 km-wide structural corridor with multiple low-sulfidation epithermal vein targets
- Nine high-priority drill targets supported by geochemistry, mapping, IP surveys, and 100+ line-km of magnetics
- Surface samples include up to 82 g/t Au and 1,239 g/t Ag at La Flora, and 2.3 g/t Au with 600 g/t Ag at Cerro Bayo
- Fully permitted for 21 drill pads following EIA approval in early 2025, with year-round access and strong infrastructure
Option and Earn-In Terms
DGC can earn a 75% interest over 38 months by:
- Paying US$1.7M to Latin Metals and assuming US$400K in vendor payments
- Completing 28,000 m of drilling and other exploration commitments (including 1,500 m by April 2026)
- Delivering a NI 43-101 technical report with a mineral resource estimate
DGC can increase its interest to 80% by paying Latin Metals US$7/oz AuEq (M&I) and US$5/oz AuEq (Inferred) based on the resource estimate.
Joint Venture & Royalty Structure
Upon exercise, DGC and Latin Metals will form a joint venture with DGC holding 75% (or 80% if the top-up right is exercised).
Latin Metals can later elect to convert its interest into a 3% NSR, of which 1% may be repurchased for US$5M.
Outlook
With drill permits secured and high-grade targets defined, Cerro Bayo and La Flora provide DGC with an advanced, drill-ready foothold in one of the world’s most productive gold-silver districts, complementing its growing portfolio in Peru.
