Cat drops poop when walking after using toilet
CW: Icky- talking about poop
Info: I’m F24, cat is F2, spayed. Posting from Spain, went to vet already for other issues (mentioned this one too) but I feel like they’re not professional for a lot of reasons. Financial: Very difficult to get it checked for at least 2-3 months
TLDR; Sometimes, when my cat goes to the bathroom, she will have poop still hanging from her butt. It’s pretty soft but not full on diarrhea. It’s unrelated to food, or at least I’m not noticing how her food relates to it (no changes/this doesn’t happen after a change). Then, as she walks, it will drop to the floor.
This is my first pet, I grew up with pets but this is the first one I’m taking care of on my own. I got her 5 months ago. I went to the vet for her cough and loud breathing and he says it’s bronchitis. I feel like they’re unprofessional for a lot of different reasons, but I have no concrete reason to believe they’re not doing their job. Bloodwork was fine, she did have her immunoglobulins (? Only know how they’re called in humans, but they’re what spike when your immune system is fighting off something) elevated - She also had crystals in her urine but the vet said we just need to keep an eye on it as she’s not showing signs of kidney stones.
She’s active, she eats, she talks, she plays (a LOT), she sleeps. She seems fine overall. She talks a LOT but she always has.
I’m not sure what to do? The vet said it might be due to her litter box, but I don’t know how that could have anything to do with the..consistency? It happens in phases - She will be fine for two weeks, and then it happens for a few days in a row. There are no changes to her or my lifestyle in between phases.
Please help, I love her to death and I’m paranoid. Money is tight, the last insurance I got scammed me (beware of Protectapet insurance) and now I’m struggling to feed myself. So I can only go to the vet for absolute emergencies. I feel like a terrible cat mom.
