This really isn't the first time Navi did this. Puppey usually takes the carry role when this happens but recently I've seen Kuro in that role as well. Navi were always known for their ability to switch roles and surprise their opponents.

I personally don't think I've seen a lot of switch roleing from na'vi. However I've seen kuroky takes carry when hvost has issues or not playing.

Apparently, this time it was because xboct had latency issues and couldn't play carry. That's why the rest of the matches of the evening had standins.

I remember XBOCT playing a Lina in the Alienware Cup too, was he carry or support then?
I think it was when (4) popped up so I think he was support.

Xboct was always their primary carry player. The 4 thing is because BTS ranked the carry players and then gave consecutive grades for them: best carry got 10, next best got 9, etc. Since they ranked Hboct as the 7th best carry he got a 4.

yeah but I think he was supporting because of bad play, whether he wanted to or was told to.

no... it was during the group stages, which were meaningless since no team got knocked out. it was only during the knock out stages that they went serious mode.

Xboct has internet/pc issues apparently, which is why he played support, game 3 Na`Vi are using a standin for this reason too it seems.
Do you happen to know if the standin 'Chill' is someone known in the scene?
Yeah he's ok. Used to play in tlih back in the day, but he's not the same person as TL mod/staff member Chill.
Chill played for WE waaaay back.
Then he played for PANZER (who later became mouz w/o him) and for uebelst sometimes
