best way to take dxm

I've drank Robitussin before and it taste like shit but felt pretty good, extended release delsym is pretty nice and euphoric too, I used to get proscribed straight dxm/hbr and promethazine together but my doctor said he can't gimme promethazine no more, I had a whole bottle of the yellow promethazine and the whole bottle of light pink dxm and mixing the 2 would fuck me up, I'm tryna chase that high now so what would y'all recommend syrup wise? I get pills are the best but I want some I can go buy rn
