Beginner 5k Plan - HELP!

Hey everyone, 29 y/o M, I started the beginner 5k plan for an upcoming race in January about two weeks ago. My goal is to run/jog the 5k with no walking breaks. I've been going good but I am still hung up on the whole zone 2 training. Even when jogging pretty slow My HR elevates to a pretty consistent 185, which is maybe a 6/10 RPE but it's kind of hard to gauge since I am new to running. I am currently using an AWU3 for tracking but bought a Polaris H10 for more up to date HR readings. When I jog slow it feels so much harder then if I am going at the normal jogging pace, and even then my HR still is elevated.

Another thing is, for example, the plan says for one of the training days to jog for 3 minutes, and walk for 2 but the total is 2.5 miles. The whole jog/walk sequence ends before I hit 2.5 miles? I usually just continue to cycle even though it is telling me to end with a 5 minute walk.

BACKGROUND: I was never a runner but kind of got motivated by some videos and I think I caught the running bug! I was always a weightlifter, primarily focused on compound lifts, and would cycle quite often. After a looong hiatus.... I now weight train 2x/week, running 3x/week (Following plan) with Fridays off, and cycling on Sundays on my MTB.

Any tips would be much appreciated!
