Tell me about your Creation Myth

In your world, how did everything start? Was it a creator god snapping their fingers and declaring "let there be light"? Or something more akin to the Big Bang? And if you do have a creator, where did they come from? Did they just... exist? Or was there something before them too?

Also, do people in your world know what happened? Is there a widely accepted myth? Competing philosophies? Or is the truth long lost to time?

I just posted my creation myth, the First Trauma, here. This event is not the beginning itself, but the first rupture in reality that led to the world taking form.

At the true beginning, there was only the ur-void; pure nothingness. Then, a wild and chaotic surge of magic collided with it. Where that magic came from is unknown (even to me). Maybe another universe. Maybe the universe collapsed and restarted. Maybe something else entirely. No one knows.

What followed wasn’t a single instant of creation, but a resistance, a violent rejection from existence itself toward what it had come to contain. This backlash became known as the First Trauma: a convulsion where reality buckled inward, collapsed upon itself, and then surged outward in a burst of impossible force. From that upheaval emerged the Flows, the vast, invisible currents of magic that give rise to the world’s physics, nature, and structure. In the wake of this rupture, countless fragments scattered like seeds across the newly forming world, buried deep beneath reality. These remnants would, in time, give rise to life.

The duration of the First Trauma is unknowable. Time, as we understand it, had not yet taken shape. It may have lasted no longer than a blink or stretched across unknowable eons. No measure applies to that era before time.

This event is a mystery to the people of Zyhr, as there is no realistic way to peel back the layers of time and reveal what happened before creation itself. Except, there is one man, who is gathering these tiny shards of possibility and through them, may have glimpsed some of the truth.
