Blender and Smithsonian Voyager Help
TLDR: transferring coordinates from blender to Smithsonian Voyager
Hello!
I am brand new to 3D. I have started learning about it for a project in my college internship.
My project is reconstructing an archaeological site, and using Smithsonian Voyager's 'annotation' option to precisely reference where certain artifacts were found.
My method thus far has been inputting the model into blender, adding spheres to mark the coordinates from the archaeological site, parenting the model over the spheres, centering the model as best I could at world origin, then pulling the new sphere coordinates and inputting them into Voyager.
It has worked.. decently? But the annotations are always not quite in the correct spot and do not orient correctly in Voyager. I need a way to get the precise coordinates from blender to go into voyager correctly.
things I have tried:
using empties in blender to move the model
ensured all dimensions are uniform across both platforms
ensured I was using the correct axis
Does anyone have any advice on how to get my coordinates to appear in Voyager precisely where they were in blender?
