Nail trimming advice

20, United states, Vet is accessible, cats age 2 and a half years she is a female and neutered, Affordable but would rather clip them myself and not have her sedated if possible.

my cat has previously required sedation to have her nails clipped but i can sometimes get her so uncaring and calm that i am able to pop her nails out with her beans.

But i never tried to clip them simply because every time i try she hops off of me and runs to the door and begs to leave.

My main request is simply for any and all advice from anxious and very easily annoyed cat parents that have any experience with successfully clipping nails and not getting demolished in the process also i am planning to wear a hoodie and a long sleeve under it so as to prevent getting clawed but anyways, thanks.
