Sanguinesti staff is trash, part 2

Discussion

After posting the inital post, I've gotten a lot of feedback, in the comments, aswell as DMs. So much, that I figured an update to the idea was in order. The first post: (https://www.reddit.com/r/GrandExchangeBets/comments/1p8qrqj/sanguinesti\_staff\_the\_staff\_that\_is\_so\_trash\_that/)

So first off, all the input and arguments ive recieved, got me thinking that Sanguinesti getting a buff as part of the new GM quest is LESS likely than I initialy assumed or hoped. Quests. Rebalancing PvM items as part of quest releases isnt exactly normal, as the devs would rather be focusing on getting the quest/encounters right, not old content.

A alternative way to charge blood related equipment, like the Sang, is not entirely unlikely thou. But that alone is not reason enough for the price to increase substanstially. (even thou the upkeep currently is VERY high.).

However, I've gotten some positive ideas aswell! Someone sent me this screenshot:

Just fyi: this is just part of a longer comment, but its the relevant part for this topic.

So with more sweep-up / rebalances on their way, and a Tumeken Shadow rework allready confirmed to be on their slate. It soundskinda logical, to me atleast, that the next "project rebalance" will be focused on magic and mage gear progression.

Its been a hot issue for ages, and they allready did some ground work:
Confliction gauntlets, nerfing occult, buffing augury, buffing mage armour (especially lower tier ones) with magic dmg %, adding elemental weaknesses.

So it seems like a natural next step to look at the weapons or off-hand options.

Another argument is that rebalancing the shadow without looking at progression as a whole, sounds like putting a small bandaid on a severed arm.

So as some of the comments suggested, a "project magic rebalance" is very likely to come along with the shadow rework.

And the Sanguinesti staff seems to me, to be the most "out of place" candidate. As a reward from the hardest raid in the game, it shouldnt really be like "Do i choose this or the trident..?" The Sanguinesti staff should be a obvious choice unless you have the shadow or eye of ayak.

Sanguinesti being outshined by the Eye is weird on its own. They should be more like equals if anything. At the very very least, the Sanguinesti should somehow get a niche in the game, even if its just a "bane" effect vs vampyres, insects or whatever.

TLDR: I've gotten suggestions (tin foil hat assumptions), that the next sweep-up MIGHT be some kind of "Project magic rebalance". This is not likely to happen until spring at earliest, on par with the last sweep-ups. But information about it can drop anytime. We are at the end of our current roadmap.

I think it sounds like a cool assumption. And lets be clear, the issue isnt that the Sanguinesti staff is bad.. its that its SO bad, that its basicly has no role in the game, except trivialising the 100 kraken, medium combat task.

Lastly I wanna admit that I love the attention my post got, its been really fun to read and discuss your opinions on the bet. But please dont take this as investment advice, I have NO IDEA what is gonna happen. a buff or rebalance could be years away if it even happens. Im just betting on pure speculation.

I repeat, I HAVE NO IDEA, and buying Sanguinesti staffs is LIKELY VERY STUPID! ^((but fun))

Finally finished grinding Theatre of blood, now I can do my kraken task - Said no one ever.
