I'm a dumb b**** and left Alton Brown's eggnog on the counter overnight after making it

Question

It had been outside for a few hours in the freezing temps so it wasn't just sitting at room temp all night, and it got put back into the freezing temps after about 5 or 6 hours.

I've heard that some folks actually do this intentionally at the start of the aging -- leaving it out on the counter. Is that correct? Am I in the clear here, or am I screwed?
