Keeping up the pro-circumcision momentum

Question

This year has been a game-changer for me. Circumcised in the UK aged 5, I felt very isolated and different growing up and the layers of shame have stayed with me a long time.

Now aged 50, things are changing. Met and chatted to a few other circumcised guys this year who have been very open and positive about it, which has allowed me to reframe my own thinking about it. I no longer feel like I'm less than, but feel proud of my penis as it is, and don't feel I have to hide or apologise for being circumcised any more.

As a gay guy, the foreskin fetishisation in the UK can be strong at times, but I push back a bit now. Having a foreskin should be seen as a choice not an automatic default or talked about as 'the norm'.

I kind of want to maintain this momentum next year and build in a positive and inclusive way on the circumcision positivity I have developed this year. 12 months ago I never would even admit on here that I'm cut, but now that feels very different.

Have you been on a similar journey, especially if being circumcised was not your choice? How would you recommend building on this? I've thought about developing a bit of a pro-circumcision friendship group in real life where we can just be open about our status and discuss the benefits positively. But I'd welcome any ideas, suggestions or DMs.

Finally, thanks to all the guys on here who have helped with this positivity and supported me - even sometimes without realising - to shed the shame and feel happy with it. This is a really great community especially for those of us coming to enjoy circumcision later in life.
