Urgent advice: Work visa extension and employer Verpflichtungserklärung in Germany
Hi everyone,
I’m a non-EU citizen living in Germany on a work-based residence permit. My permit is about to expire, and I recently became unemployed.
I went to the Ausländerbehörde (ABH) to extend my permit, and they told me that I must provide a Verpflichtungserklärung (VE). They said the only options are: 1. someone provides a VE, or 2. I must leave Germany
They did not offer any other alternatives, such as proof of personal savings or other financial guarantees.
The problem: • I am currently unemployed, and I don’t have someone who can provide a VE. • I do not have a family member or friend in Germany who could act as a financial guarantor. • I found Arbeitgeber but they don't wanna give me vertrag because they only accept me if Ausländerbehörde say that i can work.
My questions: • Has anyone been in a similar situation, and how did you handle it? • Can my Arbeitgeber help with verpflichtungserklärung?
Any advice, experiences, or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
