Heads up: potential Neo 2 factory gimbal issue. Gimbal error, motor overload issue on the very first flight. I am now the second person reporting this issue in /r/dji or /r/djineo.

DJI Neo 2

I purchased a Neo 2, Image Module, RC-N3 fly more combo which I received today. I went ahead and activated it and updated it to the latest firmware which mentions the Apple watch.

Afterwards I flew with the controller via the DJI Fly app. On the very first time I got a bit of altitude where there was some wind the gimbal went wonky on the roll axis and then a motor overload error was presented. I brought it down, swtiched it off and tried to twist the roll axis back and forth a number of times. The strange thing is there is no ovbious resistance when rolling the gimbal back and forth. I tried to perform a gimbal calibration but there was a calibration error. I turned it on and tried again twisting the roll axis back and forth but the error persists. The curious thing is that when the gimbal is switched off there is no specific roll resistance but when switched on there is roll resistance at a specific roll angle. I am hoping it is a firmware issue that can be applied to fix this. In the meantime it might be advisable to hold off updating to the latest firmware if your Neo 2 is currently flying correctly.
