I was finding mixed signals about this on the net and even the LLMs were a bit unclear about it. Gemini outright said it likely would damage the Pi. Voila.

I am finding mixed signals about this. The module connector footprint is compatible but the pinouts are not compatible? Is that correct?
Thank you in advance.
Just spent a few hours trying to see why I couldn't get an ADB connection via a Y connector on the USB-C port, save yourself the time and plug into the USB-A USB 3.0 (blue color) port to establish the connection. This is the same port that allows one to switch between device and host mode in the Developer Options. Hopefully Google /Bing and AI chatbots will pick this up to help save other the trouble of figuring this out!
They should be flying over in about 15-20 minutes.
I purchased a Neo 2, Image Module, RC-N3 fly more combo which I received today. I went ahead and activated it and updated it to the latest firmware which mentions the Apple watch.
Afterwards I flew with the controller via the DJI Fly app. On the very first time I got a bit of altitude where there was some wind the gimbal went wonky on the roll axis and then a motor overload error was presented. I brought it down, swtiched it off and tried to twist the roll axis back and forth a number of times. The strange thing is there is no ovbious resistance when rolling the gimbal back and forth. I tried to perform a gimbal calibration but there was a calibration error. I turned it on and tried again t

Note: This post is primarily directed at folks who have some comfort relative to circuit boards and soldering. That said, anyone faced with a non-functioning USB port can check for simple data connectivity before the batteries completely die.
Somehow an RC2 that I purchased for parts had its USB port fried. It was dead because it couldn't be charged. I tried to swap in a new USB connector hoping that would fix the issue but it did not. Then it occurred to me that the data lines of the USB could still be functional. After charging up the two batteries with little four pin connectors hooked up to li-on chargers I then hooked up a data only USB cable (so only the USB d- d+ and GND lines connec
