Luck of the Draw: Card Based CT
The Technique - Luck of the Draw
The user conjures a deck of 52 cards, 13 per suit (spades, hearts, clubs, diamonds). The user exhausts CE to draw a card and can only wield one card at once. An additional card cannot be drawn for three seconds after a card is "used." If the user wants to bypass this waiting time, they have to spend much more CE and take a physical damage penalty. Each suit has a different use case, and the value determines the strength (2 being the weakest, and king being the strongest). The ace cards are the absolute strongest cards to pull, and have additional special effects. Each card, upon being used, creates a tool in the wielder's hand that is destroyed upon being used (basically each one has on a one time use effect).
Spades
Spade cards, when used, conjure a spade (about the size of a gardening shovel) in the sorcerer's hand (with the actual head of it being shaped like the spade symbol on a playing card). This spade, when swung, creates a slashing attack that travels forward, with the distance it can travel and the strength of the slash being conditional on the value of the card (A 2, for example, would create a small cut on someone using reinforcement, and a King would require someone to have special grade reinforcement to not be instantly cleaved in two). The Ace of Spades instead creates a much larger spade that launches a torrent of slashes against the target. Someone caught in this barrage, unless they are at the absolute pinnacle of sorcery like Satoru Gojo or Ryomen Sukuna, will surely die if they were to try and bear the brunt of it.
Clubs
Creates a one-handed club in the user's hand with the head of the weapon shaped like the club symbol on a playing card. This club unleashes destructive energy in the form of a shockwave into whatever it hits. In the hands of a normal human swinging this weapon, for example, a 2 would leave a manhole sized crater in concrete, while a king would be enough to level a 3 story building. The Ace of Clubs creates a much larger, two handed club almost akin to a warhammer in the user's hand. The Ace of Clubs possesses a shockwave even stronger than the king of clubs, but also causes an internal tremor in any cursed spirits and humans within a radius of 20m. This tremor effect makes it difficult to maintain balance and control cursed energy/cursed techniques.
Hearts
Heart cards create a small heart shaped box. In order to be used, the user must be within 3 meters of the target. The box then opens and takes hold of the enemies' soul for a moment, preventing them from moving. For weaker sorcerers and cursed spirits, this effect also prevents them from utilizing cursed energy for the duration. Meanwhile, stronger sorcerers can break free of the effect early. When the victim is damaged from any source, the effect of this card is broken. The duration and the strength of the effect depends on the suit. A 2 may stun a grade 1 sorcerer for a quarter of a second, while a king would freeze them in place for 10 seconds and prevent them from being able to fully control CE to reinforce their body. Additionally, a king would be able to even freeze a healthy Sukuna for a moment. The Ace of Hearts manifests as a scepter with a heart at the head of it. Upon being used, the opponent's soul is captivated with their most tender memory, completely lowering their guard. Depending on the strength of the opponent, the effect may last for only a couple of seconds, or for hours on weak targets.
Diamonds
These cards manifest as a ring on the finger of the user. When used, it creates a diamond shaped barrier fixed in space that shields the user. Additionally, the user can use these as platforms in midair. A 2 of diamonds will merely lessen the impact of incoming blows from other sorcerers, while a king can block attacks from special grade targets. The ace of diamonds manifests as a bracelet ordained with diamond shaped symbols. When used, it creates a geodesic dome (look this term up for a better mental image) with a variable size. At its smallest possible size (a radius of half a meter around the user), it possesses defensive strength near double that of a king of diamonds in all directions. At its maximum size, it possesses less strength than a king of diamonds but can still block in all directions. There is said to be a sorcerer from years past that utilized the ace of diamonds to create an outline for their domain in order to better expand it when they were first learning the mechanics of domain expansion. This is similar to how Megumi Fushigoro used a high school gymnasium to contain his domain in his battle against Reggie Star.
Cursed Technique Reversal
When used, the sorcerer is able to stow away a drawn card into their "hand" and draw another, bypassing the three second condition. This allows for more versatility and combo potentiality. For example, a user may draw and store an Ace of Spades, and upon drawing a queen of hearts can use the two in conjunction with each other. Or, if the user draws a bad card, they can store it and immediately draw a new card.
