my youth is running out, foods going to spoil
the initial succulence of a fresh hot meal after waiting ages for it
consuming those ethereal mouthfuls
lustful bites in a lengthy buffet

im filling up and there is nothing i can do
use it or lose it, eat now or go hungry later
soon there will only be leftovers

nothing new and the anticipating thrill of that steaming hot plate long gone
all that remains are dull repetitions, cold and stale
