My neurologist is unsure of my diagnosis (either IIHWOP or migraine) - i have features of IIH such as symptoms of daily headache; tinnitus and pulsatile tinnitus; and a ‘full’ feeling in my head and in 2024 had an MRI which showed venous sinus stenosis. However, when i had a lumbar puncture (also in 2024) my opening pressure was 25 (borderline) and i had no papilledema, so since then they have been pursuing migraine treatments and none have worked.
Now, my neurologist is recommending that my GP prescribes Acetazolomide to try help. Just wondering if this does sound like IIHWOP and if anybody has any experiences with Acetazolomide that they feel like sharing? also, if the medication helps, does that indicate an IIHWOP diagnosis? as i am not keen to have another lumbar puncture, which my neurologist suggested repeating if i see no improvements.
