Im afraid of getting circumsised

Hi, Im afraid of getting circumcised because I’ve heard some people regret doing it complaining about problems like loss of sensitivity or even not being able to get fully erect.

Im 20 and I need to get circumsised because of phimosis (my foreskin can’t retract at all, only enough to see a small opening on the tip. What should I do? Are my fears justified?
