Pipe thermal sensor not switching correctly

Question

Hey Guys,

I highly apologize for this post earlier this day. I was at work and it bugged me so I tried to describe the problem. So now, I will fully show it to you with a certain build. I put the question right on top since it might become a longer post ... Do you know this behaviour or maybe is that a rare case that occurred in one of the last updates? This is behaviour is new to me but I am usually not playing >2000 cycles. Lag is not an issue yet.

And basically, this not a problem with a specific build, it's a problem with pipe thermo sensors suddenly not switching anymore after hundreds of cycles. and months of gameplay on this save.

So, what I'm showing you is the cooling loop of my metal refinery station, visual first then pipe layout just so that you see the setup.

Check the arrows, ti's gonna get messy (sorry, yellow/red at the AT are swapped ...)

So yes, the sensor is on a pipe output. But it works because the bridge places the liquid there the same tick it would have been on the input of the bridge, teleporting it there.

So, the workflow is warm water -> AT with bypass -> storage tank for temp averaging -> Thermal sensor with 21°C.

Here the automation overlay:

So, the thermal sensor should switch to red once it is <21°C. However, sometimes the switch just does not happen. I know that sometimes switching is delayed by a few seconds, but the first time I saw it was because the coolant pipes were popping due to freezing (using pwater) and got the alert. From then on, I could spontaneously observe that the sensor is not switching properly. After initial observation, the next was scalding alarms because then, the sensor did not switch on manually. I set it to below -> above manually to reconfigure the logic. After this it was working again and eventually failed again.

This specific build was running >500 cycles without any issues. Eventually I switched the coolant to supercoolant but figured out this was not a good idea, because the pipes are not popping anymore.

So I have showed it to you with this specific build. But it also happened in a completely different cooling loop at my plastic factory. And with my thermo mixer not correctly mixing my 80°C desired output, sometimes ending up with 30-40°C, sometimes at almost 90°C (mixing cold and hot together). I always make sure that there is enough thermal capacity inside the liquid reservoir to get a reasonable temperature hysteresis (+-3°C in this case shown here). Sometimes the pipes from AT to reservoir are longer, causing a slightly increase of pk-pk temperatures.

However, that's temperature but my problem is that the automation signal is not going off.

Thank you, please ask anything you need :-)

Getting paranoid already and checking every cycle ...
