This is my gorgeous boy, Wormy. He showed up on my porch when I moved into my new house and I brought him inside at new years and got him fixed. The vet estimated he’s about 2. We’ve been working on introducing him with our other 4 cats for about a month now and I’m really lost on if he’ll be able to succeed here.

We’ve had him living in the lower level of our home and had baby gates floor to ceiling so he can come to the door and start to visit with the other cats. He calls to the other cats and wants their attention so badly but he’s kind of…. Insane. He’s just a massive nugget. Even with us, he will attack my head when I sit on the couch, he zooms around constantly, he will climb your leg if he decides he wants to play with your hand, he plays more intensely than any cat I’ve ever met. Hell he just is the most intense cat I’ve met!

The others are 3 girls and a boy, all fixed. The boy, Ponzu, is the friendliest thing on the planet. He is trying so hard to be Wormy’s friend. They have played through the gates, they sit near each other on each side of the gate. But when I let them actually into the same space, wormy is just too much. It went really well for a time or two but I guess he got comfortable? All he wants to do is play and he plays too hard, he won’t let ponzu have any space when he wants it, just all gas no breaks. Ponzu clearly wants to be friends but is just too overwhelmed by being pounced on and ran at. I haven’t tried the girls because I know that won’t go well and we’ve gone back to fully separated introduction for a good while longer but I’m looking for advice/thoughts on if he’ll be able to be around other cats and how to continue with this process. Thank you in advance!

TLDR; my newest street intake is so intense I’m wondering if/how to make this work with my other cats.
