peeing cat

hi everyone, i need some help with my two kittens (2 months old).

they both learned how to use the litter box and were using it normally for both pee and poop. but one night, because of an emergency, i had to move the litter box to a different spot temporarily.

after that, one of them started peeing and pooping in the bathroom shower area, and one time he also did it in my bedroom. the other kitten is still using the litter box normally. i’ve already moved the litter box back to its original place, and he does use it sometimes, but other times he still chooses the bathroom.

some extra info:

- they’re 2 months old

- there are two kittens, but only one is doing this

- he knows where the litter box is and was using it fine before

- same litter as before

- this started right after i moved the litter box for one night

- before this, they didn’t have access to the whole house. now they do

i’m wondering if this could be confusion from moving the box, the new access to more space, or something else. i’d really appreciate any tips on how to help him go back to using only the litter box.
