Unable to use write on in paint node (fusion) when using a Wacom

I'm having the same issue, detailed in this older post.

My wacom tablet basically funcitions as a mouse everywhere else but for some reason it breaks the "Write on" function in fusion (it works perfectly with a mouse). Drawing is obviously easier when using a drawing tablet, so this is a bit disapointing. Can anyone think of a workaround?
