Why does my cat CRY at night?

Main Issue: My cat absolutely CRIES and HOWLS at night when we go to bed. I call her and she happily jumps up on the bed, and then goes back into the living room and CRIES and HOWLS again. She does this most nights. I think it might be because she's bored and an asshole, but worry there's another reason.
