Who actually owns the AI tools budget in your support team?
We're seeing more and more support teams using AI tools daily (ChatGPT, Claude, Intercom's Fin, etc.) to draft replies, summarize tickets, handle FAQs.
Curious about how this works operationally at your company:
- Does the support/CX manager control the AI tools budget directly?
- Or does it sit with IT or Engineering, and support just uses whatever they're given?
- Is anyone actually tracking how much your support team spends on AI per month?
Asking because I'm trying to understand if support leaders have visibility and ownership over AI costs, or if it's still treated as an IT infrastructure problem.
Would love to hear how it works at your company -
big or small.
