Need a cone to stop my cat from scratching her ear, are one of the soft cones good for this?
One of my girls did something to her ear, I'm thinking that her claws got too long and she accidentally cut herself. I called the vet and sent some pictures along and they've prescribed an anti-septic solution to clean the area with as well as confining her to a cone until it improves. She has an appointment for the 16th already set up, she needs shots, so she's gonna be cone bound for 9-ish days or until her ear improves, whichever comes first.
In the past we've tried to get her to wear a collar and she's always forced it off so I'm worried she's gonna do the same with a cone. I've heard/read that soft or inflatable cones are the way to go and I'd prefer that for her comfort (and my sanity) but I'm unsure if she'd be able to scratch at her ear still or not, anyone have any suggestions?
I'm looking at getting something like this in one size more than she'd need per the suggestions on the page.
