I actually thought the mods were here to help

New Post - Tech Support

I posted another thread earlier about how I was having difficulty getting Comcast to mark the location of their cable so I can begin a landscape project. I filled out a ticket on Georgia’s 811 site. Power line marked within the hour. So too AT&T. But not Comcast. We received an automated response within minutes of the ticket saying Comcast had determined no conflict exists.

I came here seeking resolution. They are required by law to mark the lines, and the mods here opened a ticket to get it done. Great. Very proactive.

But nothing happened. The ticket was closed and the lines are still unmarked, although I was informed that somebody came out and had a look. Then I was told they couldn’t override what we were told in their 811 response.

Here’s the thing — Comcast DOES NOT KNOW where the work will be done. In fact the 811 ticket as well as my conversations here specify that their lines are close to the work area. To say no conflict exists is absurd. To not mark it is illegal and irresponsible and potentially negligent.

I talked to the AT&T rep when she was marking her lines. She could only shake her head.

Comcast reps here did say if the cable is damaged they’ll be out to repair it.

So there’s that.
