Owned Motorola MB8611 stuck at 690 Mbps on Gigabit tier. Suspect incorrect bootfile.
Hello,
I am currently on the Gigabit download plan, using my own Motorola MB8611 DOCSIS 3.1 modem. My download speeds are hitting a hard brick wall at exactly 690 Mbps, and I suspect my modem might be provisioned with the wrong bootfile (possibly an older 600 Mbps tier profile).
Here is the troubleshooting I have already done to rule out hardware/signal issues:
- Direct Connection: The 690 Mbps speed cap happens even when testing via Ethernet directly from the modem to a computer (completely bypassing my router).
- Perfect Signal Levels: I rewired my demarc to give the modem a dedicated, high-power run. My Downstream Power is sitting perfectly between -2.9 and +0.5 dBmV, and my SNR is stellar at 41 to 43 dB.
- Upload is Fine: My upload speed is currently hitting ~45 Mbps, which shows the physical line is healthy and handling overprovisioning perfectly.
Since the physical line and hardware are completely isolated and optimized, could a specialist please check my account backend? I would love to get the correct Gigabit DOCSIS 3.1 bootfile pushed to my modem's MAC address so I can access my full speeds.
Thank you!
