About the T-Rex Ultra 2 navigation. Good things but also critical issues

Device Support ⌚️

Hello,

(english is not my native language)

About the issues:

- When you have a round trip activity along the same route (you repeat the track in different directions), the navigation works better than it was working in the T-Rex 3 Pro, but there are still several issue.

In this track I did today, the watch stopped detecting the turns. And it has happened both on the way there and on the way back.

A photo of the watch, with the issue and several photos using the screenshot feature:

Garmin is the only brand that is clever enough to give you the indications in any condition and when you repeat several parts of the track in different directions. Read more here: https://www.reddit.com/r/amazfit/comments/1pmq760/trex_3_pro_navigation_completely_broken_when/

- Incoming orange climb notifications need more work. I noticed the orange notifications are a lot less than the notifications that were happening in the T-Rex 3 Pro.

This notification is this one (shot taken with the T-Rex 3 Pro but it's exactly the same):

https://preview.redd.it/trqzb2yqd1pg1.jpg?width=466&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a9d74cbcfa157c7c818dd574c9a61336cc202d9

I noticed many wrong notifications in the T-Rex 3 Pro. Now I'm noticing very few notifications when more should be expected. In favour of Amazfit, nobody notifies you the incoming climbs, only Amazfit. And this is a very good thing since you know what is coming without going to the climb screens.

- I'm not very sure about the notifications of the performace condition. It is supposed to be triggered taking in account that same track you did other days. But there are days I did the same track changing parts with a lot of time out of the route and the notifications are not as clever as they should. The watch should know that new route. Even more, the watch should know if that new route is repeated according to the activities history even if you don't have the track loaded. This notification is this one:

https://preview.redd.it/ydblvpf1f1pg1.jpg?width=466&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f5d616ed4625689affd9938b7f02aca475061c4

In favour of Amazfit, this notification is triggered several time. In Garmin is triggered only once at the very first start of the activity.

The red notifications with the distance to the route (when you are out of the route), seem coherent for me and working. The notification is this one:

https://preview.redd.it/h0b8hi8ve1pg1.jpg?width=466&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3eef761ba2161b7ef7a99370bf3cbcaccb6c8f64

Same as before. This red notification with the distance to the route is changed dinamically and nobody else has it.

Other things:

In Zepp, now the colors of the climb are very good detailed. No other brand has this level of detail. Suunto has the work done, but Amazfit goes further here:

Last and the best. Amazfit does not only notifify you the remaining ascent and descent between checkpoints (I.E AID stations on a trail run), but does also show you the profile betwen them and even with the climb colors.

(shot from Amazfit's site):

This is so nice guys. This is what a Climb Pro should be.

Garmin does not even have the remaining ascent/descent datafields. And this goes even a lot further, as you can see.

A shot of the whole track (taken from their site):

- Routeable maps seem to work a lot better than in the T-Rex 3 Pro. Where I live it seems to work and it's pretty fast. I need more testing but this was a thing only Garmin had.

BTW (this is for the reviews not saying everything). Crashes with routeable maps in Garmin:

(3 different watches. Fenix 7 Pro, Forerunner 965 and Forerunner 970).

----------------------------------------------------

So where are we? I think we are seeing very good navigation. There are some points that Amazfit is behind Garmin (like the issues I posted). But after having several Suunto, Coros and being a Garmin user for more than 10 years, I think there are other ones that Amazfit is the best in my opinion
