12V dead after DST switchover?
So my 2017 eGolf has an almost new 12V battery (installed and coded in January 2026).
Today i found the car dead.
I jump started it, read out the logs with VCDS.
After recharging 12V and clearing all the faults, everything is back to normal.
The trigger of the event seems to be this DTC:
8531970 - Quiescent Current U1406 00 [00001000] - Too High [Ruhestrom oberer Grenzwert überschritten] Intermittent - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear Freeze Frame: Fault Priority: 7 Fault Frequency: 1 Reset counter: 215 Mileage: 98638 km Date: 2026.03.28 Time: 04:20:16 Terminal 30 power supply: 12.0 V Terminal 15: OFF
Interestingly: The night of the 27-28th was DST switchover here in Europe. At 0200 time jumps to 0300. And at 0420 the car logs the standby current too high and low voltage fault.
The car was parked in a underground garage, so no Mobile or GPS reception.
Has anybody seen something like this before? It seems like it would be an extreme coincidence if i had a 12V battery issue on a 3 month old fresh battery exactly 1h20m after DST switchover?
