Bio: Excitable, friendly, and insatiably curious, Tasslehoff Burrfoot is a kender of no small renown. Tas is the beating heart of the Heroes of the Lance, and his knack for 'borrowing' somehow manages to solve more problems than it causes. While Tas may not see himself as a hero, he is fearless in the face of Krynn's greatest dangers, and he always comes to the aid of his friends.

Basic Attack: Hoopak - Tasslehoff fires a stone at the closest enemy, dealing one hit.

  • Base Attack Type: Ranged

  • Base Attack Speed: 3.5 seconds

  • Base Critical Hit Chance: 2.5%

  • Base Critical Hit Damage: 100%

Ultimate: I'm Not the Hero - Tasslehoff encourages the next Champion to use their ultimate to deal 400% more damage with that ultimate.

  • Base Ultimate Cooldown Time: 120 seconds

##Passive Abilities

Fearless: Tasslehoff is immune to being Stunned.

##Interesting Abilities

Diversion: Tasslehoff prevents any Champion-sourced non-healing positional formation abilities from targeting his slot or adjacent slots. For each prevented ability per slot, he gains a Diversion stack. Tasslehoff increases the effect of his Map Collector specialization by 10% for each Diversion stack, stacking multiplicatively.

  • No upgrades; Supported by an Item & a Feat

Gaar's Note: This ability is designed to help Raistlin get as many of their own stacks as possible by being the only one to get positional buffs. This ability's Item & Feat support buff the pre-stack modifier, making it a Mathematically OverPowered (MOP) ability which means the more item levels you put on this Champion, the better they get without worrying about the same diminishing returns as other Champions.

Borrower: Each time the party completes an area, Tasslehoff somehow comes into possession of some future quest items, setting his Found Item stacks to 7. When Tasslehoff attacks an enemy that can drop quest items, there is a 10% chance he spends a Found Item stack and adds a quest item to the party's quest progress.

  • No upgrades; Supported by an Item & Feats

Gaar's Note: This is their speed effect. Going over 100% gets you more credit on quest items. This does absolutely nothing if the area doesn't drop quest items or if you're actually killing the enemies when he attacks.

Wanderlust: Tasslehoff grows impatient if he remains in the same area for a long time. Tasslehoff increases the effect of his Map Collector specialization by 100% for every 10 seconds the party is in an area, stacking multiplicatively up to 12 times and resetting when changing areas.

  • No upgrades; Supported by an Item & Feats

Gaar's Note: This is a per-area ramping effect based on how long it takes to complete the area. It will only kick in as you push deeper.

Global DPS Buff: 7.37e06%

##First Specialization Choice

Map Collector: Pre-Cataclysm: Tasslehoff increases the damage of Champions in the rear-most column by 100%.

  • ~e12% after upgrades; Supported by an Item & Feats

Map Collector: Time of Darkness: Tasslehoff increases the damage of Champions in the second to rear-most column by 100%

  • ~e12% after upgrades; Supported by an Item & Feats

Map Collector: War of the Lance: Tasslehoff increases the damage of Champions in the third to rear-most column by 100%

  • ~e12% after upgrades; Supported by an Item & Feats

Gaar's Note: The choice here is all about where your DPS is placed.

##Second Specialization Choice

Small Friends: Tasslehoff increases the effect of his Map Collector specialization by 100% for each dwarf, fairy, gnome, goblin, halfling, kender, kobold, and/or plasmoid Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

  • No upgrades; Supported by an Item & Feats

Fast Friends: Tasslehoff increases the effect of his Map Collector specialization by 100% for each Speed Champion and/or Champion with a Dexterity of 16 or higher in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

  • No upgrades; Supported by an Item & Feats

Old Friends: Tasslehoff increases the effect of his Map Collector specialization by 100% for each Hero of the Lance and Champions that are 38 years and older in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

  • No upgrades; Supported by an Item & Feats

Gaar's Note: As these all have the same multiplier, this choice is about which one has the biggest number based on how you built your formation.

#Formation & Mission Information

Once you complete the first mission, three Variants and a Free Play show up. It uses a formation that holds 10 Champions. It has a Champ-specific format that I've done my best to re-create below.

New Player Formation & Specializations:

While I recommend learning to build your own formations, here's a set of starter formations for brand new players to use while they get the hang of things. Anyone with other options should check that link for how to figure out how to make the best of them. You can also ask for help in the comments section.

Back Column3rd Column2nd ColumnFront Column
Asharra - Elves & Dwarves/NA
Minsc - Beasts
NACeleste - War Domain
Calliope - College of ValorNayeli - Oath of Devotion
Jarlaxle - Leader of Bregan D'aerthe
Hitch - More DaggersNA
Bruenor - Battle Master

This formation is for the first couple of runs where you're just not going to get enough Gold to get everyone on the field, let alone level people up into their power curves. At this point, Jarlaxle is focusing on being your Primary DPS while everyone else is set up to support him.

The following formation is for once your Asharra starts doing more damage than your Jarlaxle. You can find this out by changing Asharra's first Specialization Choice to Potpourri (via a Potion of Specialization) and swapping her position with Jarlaxle at the end of a run. If Asharra is higher, next run start Asharra in the DPS position from then on.

This formation should get you through the Event as a new player. If you have other options or think a different DPS is geared better, try it out and see what happens! Swapping Champions around like this can help you figure out what works best for you with your specific situation.

These are the rough Favor values you need to reach to make a Tier 1 Variant say Difficulty: Easy. Keep in mind that this is just a generic rating system and some Variants may be harder than others, even with Favor in this range. Earning lots of Favor (above what is shown below) before trying variants can make them much easier than they would otherwise be.

VariantFavor Level (Normal)Favor Level (Scientific Notation)
7520,000~2e04
12515,000,000~1.5e07
175150,000,000~1.5e08

Beyond Tier 1, Favor isn't going to be all you need to get through them. That doesn't mean you can't try though, just remember that if it isn't green it could be problematic. Always read the restrictions as they're going to be what makes it hard for you to progress!

Not everyone will be able to complete all four Tiers of event content. This is a progress-over-time measurement system that lets you know where you are in the power progression arc and potentially what you need to work on to move forward. The table below has the approximate boss health values at the various end stages. Comparing this to your BUD will let you know how close or far you are from being able to complete things.

##Initial Adventure: A Fool's Errand

Info: No restrictions.

##First Variant: Did I Ever Tell You About...?

Info: Tasslehoff starts in the formation. He can be moved, but not removed. Only Tasslehoff and Champions in the 3 rear-most columns can deal damage. Champions next to Tasslehoff attack slower due to his stories. Their base attack cooldowns are increased by 2 seconds. 1-2 Bozak Draconians spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count towards quest progress.

Gaar's Notes: This is basically teaching you how Tasslehoff works. You don't want your DPS adjacent to them, ever. So make sure that happens in this and you'll be fine.

##Second Variant: Fizban's Fabulous Friendship

Info: Tasslehoff starts in the formation. He can be moved, but not removed. Fizban joins the formation. Champions in Fizban's column deal 1,000% additional damage. This bonus counts as a positional formation ability. You may only use Champions that have positional formation abilities. Only Tasslehoff and Champions not next to him can deal damage. 1-2 Baaz Draconians spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count towards quest progress. In each boss area, a Sivak Draconian boss spawns as part of the first wave. It must also be defeated to progress.

Gaar's Notes: You're down a Champion alongside a similar restriction for DPS placement from the first variant. There are lots of Champs with PFAs in the game, so that isn't the worst restriction but it can still hamper your progress. They're leaning this towards you using Raistlin as a DPS, but it's not required.

##Third Variant: A Loyal Friend

Info: Tasslehoff starts in the formation. He can be moved, but not removed. You may only use Champions that count for any of Tasslehoff's second Specialization choices. Only Tasslehoff an Champions not next to him can deal damage. The enemy/boss enrage bar starts out on the screen and begins to fill immediately. When one or more Monstrosity enemies are alive, the bar fills four times faster. 1-2 Kapak Draconians spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count towards quest progress. In each boss area, an Aurak Draconian boss spawns as part of the first wave. It must also be defeated to progress.

Gaar's Notes: So this is designed to encourage you to build around their second set of Spec choices, maximizing one of them to get the most power. The rest of the restrictions here are just to cause a bit of trouble in terms of the enemies. Having a solid front line should make things fine.

#Achievements

Gaar's Note: All of these achievements can be earned at any time, not just during their Event.

Recruit Tasslehoff - 1%

Recruit Tasslehoff, the Kender Rogue

Nothing More Dangerous than a Bored Kender - 1%

Complete all three variants of the "A Fool's Errand (Tasslehoff)" adventure. (This achievement can be earned via Time Gates.)

Holding It For Safekeeping - 1%

Obtain a piece of gear for each of Tasslehoff's six equipment slots. (Event Champ gear does not come from regular Silver/Gold Chests. You can earn Event Champ gear from their specific Event Chests, Time Gates, qualifying Patron Chests, and other Chests as noted.)

Trying and Hoping - 1%

Complete area 250 in any "A Fool's Errand" adventure, variant, free play, or Time Gate.

Oops - 1%

Complete 1,000 areas with Tasslehoff having at least 40 stacks of Diversion active.

Gaar's Note: That's gonna take some interesting placement with lots of positional formation abilities from others. Here is an example of how to get 40+ in Tomb of Annihilation with Core & Tales Champs. This is just one way to do it and I wasn't trying to maximize values, just clear the 40 goal.
