If you've been rejected.
I know it's disappointing but it is not the end of your world.
There’s an awesome post over on ApplyingToCollege (https://www.reddit.com/r/ApplyingToCollege/comments/1s9msj8/going\_to\_my\_backup\_state\_school\_was\_the\_best/) from a student who didn’t get into their dream schools and ended up attending their backup state university. Instead of spiraling, they share how that “disappointment” turned into one of the best things that ever happened to them.
They talk about finding supportive professors, discovering new opportunities they never expected, building real friendships, and realizing that success isn’t tied to prestige—it’s tied to what you do once you get there.
It’s a grounded, heartfelt reminder that your worth isn’t defined by admissions results, and that incredible futures can start in places you didn’t originally imagine.
If you’re feeling discouraged after QB or RD decisions, this post is absolutely worth a read.
