Do these count as puppets? Non-moving paper and hand drawing

Greetings!

I just watched a short ad that had someone's hand placing human figures on the screen as the video went on and drawing on them to add details. The paper figures move slightly, but I can't tell if it's stop motion or if the whole thing is **. I hope it's not just ** and that there is actually a person behind this.

Would you say this is also puppetry? If not, what would you call it?

If you are curious, the short video (1:32 mins) is on this webpage: https://www.zooniverse.org/about

Thanks!
