cat basically licked and spit out medication

didn’t know how to flair

i called an emergency vet, not a minor in SF

I have two basically feral cats and i don’t know which one lightly munched on a pill on the floor. The case was not broken but it was soggy & it was a 10mg nortiptyline pill

one cat is 10lbs the other is 18lbs

the hospital wanted me to bring them both in to be safe - if they were normal cats i totally would. However, they are both basically feral and one is actively sick after a tooth extraction endeavor only 2 weeks ago which was very traumatic for him

I couldn’t find any vets that could come to my house on emergency - it’s been 15-20 minutes since i found the medication. No strange behavior or alarming signs, i’m monitoring them both actively for the next 2 hours.

wtf do i do? just wait for signs so i know which one did it? bring them both in?

it’s a $110 fee just to speak with poison control and an emergency vet is worse after the teeth expense.

I’d like to avoid the trauma and expense and because my honest guess is only 1-2mg could have possibly been ingested and it seems it was picked up and spit out the minute they tasted it
