Do you ever find yourself thinking: 'What this patient needs is medication, not therapy'?

In other words, that no therapy will work. If so, are you honest with the patient, telling them that you feel continuing is pointless and that they would be better off consulting a psychiatrist?

I'm interested because we hear a lot of psychiatrists saying that sometimes their patients need therapy, not meds, which is the contrary
