TW: Poop-talk | Cat and digestive issues - side effects after constipation/worms or something more urgent?

Abnormal Vomit/Excreta

Starting with a few important disclaimers:

  1. Cat has already been to the vet once (2 weeks ago)
  2. I have new vet appointment in 2 weeks
  3. My nearest vet is a 1 min walk away so I can take my cat there quickly if needed (Currently working from home so i can monitor her).
  4. Poster (Europe): 32F and have the finances for vet visits (or anything needed to keep my baby healthy)

Cat is female, spayed and 11 years young (acts/looks like she is 3).
Annual vet-visist for vaccination and a general health-check. Got a "senior check" 2 years ago including dental and bloodwork, no issues found except some gum inflamation (got treatment for that). Can freely access the great outdoors and is an excellent hunter -> very likely eats tons of prey (sometimes even bring half eaten gifts inside).

Issue TLDR: Cat been to the vet 2 weeks ago for likely constipation/anal glands issues. Was dewormed at home a week ago. The past few days she has passed some gnarly farts and smelly poops. Normal after constipation/deworming or rush vet appointment? Does anyone have experience or advice? I will do anything to keep my baby safe and healthy!

The detailed version:

It started with some gnarly farts, not typical for my little lady. I started to suspect potential anal gland issues and paid close attention to her behavior. She was still her normal self: active, lots of snuggles, ate and drank (maybe a smidge less than normal) water.

Around 2 weeks ago I noticed some poop w/blood in her anus after she had just been outside. I immediatly got worried and took her to the vet. The vet felt around on her stomach and extracted her anal glands. Said it was likely consitpation and told me to give her a fibre supplement and pay attention to her behavior, weightloss etc. After the visit she was slightly better, but not 100%. On multiple occations she had some poop poking out of her butt, but she didnt seem to take notice. I gave her malt, access to lots of running water, and decided to give her some deworm medication as I know she eats prey and its been a while since her last treatment (I get dewormer from my vet with the instruction to give it 2-4 times a year).

She normally do her "business" outside, but still have a litterbox inside. My cat seemed in slight distress still, so I put out a second litterbox to be sure she had lots of options. I suspected she still had a last "big poop" to come out after the constipation/dewormer - and I was right. After a bathroom visit she immediatly seemed lots better and quickly seemed like her normal self. The next few days she became very active again, ate/drank as normal, and no more poops poking out (yay!).

Her quick recovery made me more confident it was "just" constipation and potentially distress from worms, but now im not too sure anymore. Its been about a week since i dewormed her, but yesterday she had some nasty farts again. When I woke up this morning she had used the litterbox, and though cat poop never smells nice, this one was absolutley foul! It was a bit mushy, maybe slight diarrhea (?), and i also cleaned a smidge from her little butt. She is still active and eat/drink as normal, but at this point any side effects from dewormer should have passed? or?

Can this be normal symptoms after consitpation or a worm infestation/deworming?
If anyone here have experience with digestive issues (worms?), what turned out to be case? I am considering rushing my vet appointment, or potentially taking her to another vet since the first one didnt take any blood or stool samples from her.
