Partner with DID/OSDD has completely withdrawn

Question // Discussion

I could really use some outside perspective.

I’ve been with my partner for well over a decade. They have a DID/OSDD diagnosis, and over the years we’ve gone through many challenges related to trauma, communication difficulties, different parts having different feelings, and periods of withdrawal.

We have survived a lot together, including a temporary breakup in the past, and eventually found our way back to each other.

Recently, things became much more difficult. Communication started decreasing, and eventually I stopped receiving replies altogether. For about a month now, I haven’t received any direct response despite continuing to reach out in supportive and loving ways.

At some point I realized I was probably putting too much pressure on certain future plans and expectations. I sent a long message apologizing for that, taking responsibility for my part, expressing my love, and making it clear that I wasn’t angry and that there would be no pressure from me.

After that, I decided to give more space and stopped sending daily messages.

What has me confused is that while there has been no communication with me, there have been signs of activity elsewhere. Some shared spaces that we both used no longer include me, and that appears to have been an intentional decision.

So now I’m struggling with a question:

For people with experience in DID/OSDD relationships, have you ever seen someone completely withdraw from a partner they still cared about?

Could this be a trauma response, shame, avoidance, overwhelm, or something similar?

Or should I interpret the combination of prolonged silence and deliberate distancing as a strong indication that the relationship is effectively over?

I know nobody here can know my specific situation. I’m just trying to understand whether experiences like this are something others have seen before.

Thank you.
