Cairo to UK via Athens. Is Type A Transit visa needed for Yemeni passport?

Hi. A Yemeni national is travelling to the UK from Cairo on a Spouse eVisa. It's a one-way, single booking with a transit in Athens only staying in the transit area for 2 hours. I'm getting conflicting answers online regarding the requirement for a Schengen Type A visa.

Can someone help with clarification please.
