Mac for CompEng

Advice

Hey everyone, incoming comp Eng student this fall. I’ve been using apple products all my life, and my current laptop is getting old, so it’s due time for an upgrade. I’ve been really excited for the new OLED MacBook, and after recent info about it came out, I really wanna get it (I can wait a few months with my old laptop until it comes out).

Anyways, my main C O N C E R N is that many people say that MacBooks can’t be used for engineering - not compaitable with the software. Is that true for comp Eng as well, cuz obv there’s the coding aspect (which Mac’s excel at) but are the circuits, FGPA, PCB and other hardware stuff just not available on MacBook? I’d like to hear experiences from current comp Eng students who have a MacBook and how they made it work. I’d really like to stick with Apple products just cuz I’ve been using it my whole life+I still use it for personal stuff.
