New Subaru Uncharted: Wrap it? And what colors do you wish you could get?
I'm loving my new Uncharted so far (okay, "so far" is only two days), but I went with the boring black exterior of an available car on the lot. I'm not fond of that color. None of the other available color options, however, really grabbed me either. I might have gone for Metropolis Gray Metallic if I was considering that to be the forever color.
I'm seriously considering getting a wrap. And black is a great under-color for wrapping. I've only talked to one place so far for a rough estimate, and they're ballparking me something a little under US $3000.
Knowing full well (and not really needing to hear about it!) that some of you might passionately hate some or all of these colors, these are the colors I'm currently contemplating:

I don't fit the supposed extroverted and risk-taking stereotype associated with driving a bright yellow car. I just love the color yellow as a color — so long as it's a vibrant yellow like the above, not pale or pastel yellow, not a too-orangey shade like school bus yellow.
Since this color isn't commonly available, however, the only yellow car I've ever owned in my life was many decades ago: a very cheap used VW Station wagon thrust upon me by my parents.
I like the other two colors as well, of course (or I wouldn't have mocked them up), and the top blue would appeal to my wife the most.
Boring dealer-available colors is far from just a Subaru problem. Apart from options for some muscle cars it seems most of the automotive world has turned to a bland and boring color palette, with the main deviation du jour usually being some shade of orange I don't like.
Why a wrap and not paint? Good paint jobs are much more expensive, yet oddly enough that extra expense is more likely to devalue your car than a wrap. A wrap preserves and protects the original paint, and can be removed without damage. Painting destroys the original paint.
What colors do the rest of you wish you could get that Subaru and most other manufacturers aren't offering these days?
