1. Don't Panic Over High Initial Cutoffs: Round 1 metrics are heavily inflated because top-tier rankers hold these seats as backup options while waiting on final IIT COAP round confirmations. As upcoming COAP deadlines pass, massive seat withdrawals will occur, driving down cutoffs in Round 2 and Round 3.
2. Document Checks: If you received an allotment for the very first time, immediately double-check that your certificates (especially category or EWS/OBC-NCL documents dated after April 1st) are perfectly in line with guidelines to protect your seat.
