Trouble asking for help
I'm gonna sound like a super arrogant dick trust me I know. Here we go!
I RARELY ask for help, I've learned if you want it done, do it yourself, if you want it done correctly DEFINITELY do it yourself.
The following story illustrates my main problem.
I was making pasta from scratch one night and I've made it a handful of times, probably like 20, so no professional but I've got a solid base understanding. My bf at the time said he saw an old lady making it at a renfaire . He proceeds to critique my methods. Telling me the dough needed to rest longer. I humored him in the interest of "let people help you 🤡" . As I predicted the dough dried out. His solution was to add water, although technically correct , he proceeds to dunk the dough in a bowl of water turning it into a raw elephant ear. I mustered up all the resolve I had and said just do dishes. I started over and had dinner on the table in 30 min.
Now I have the mentality of nobody helps unless they are as good or better than me. Which although comes from a good place is perceived as arrogant.
What do I do? I'm constantly dissappointed by literally everyone. I don't wanna be like this but like rule #1 don't fuck with the food and you TARNISHED IT.
