Garage sauna owners: brilliant idea or terrible environment?
I keep seeing people ask whether a garage is a smart place for an infrared sauna.
On paper, it makes sense: extra space, easier delivery, no need to give up a bedroom, basement, or office. It also feels like a good “wellness corner” if the garage is already used for workouts, tools, or storage.
But garages can also be rough environments.
Cold winters, summer heat, humidity, dust, fumes, spiders, uneven floors, and general garage chaos all seem like things that could affect the sauna experience — or the sauna itself — over time.
So I’m curious:
Would you put an infrared sauna in a garage?
And for people who already have one there:
Did it work out well, or do you regret it?
What did you have to do to make the space comfortable — insulation, flooring, ventilation, dehumidifier, heater, bug control, better lighting?
Also wondering if anyone has had issues with electronics, wood, panels, glass, or warranty coverage because the sauna was placed in a garage.
