Mexican Films

Recently saw Y Tu Mama Tambien and Amores Perros for the first time, and was wondering if there were any other Spanish films like them? It doesn't have to be from Mexico, but I do prefer at least Latin American (example: the secret in their eyes) as it's easier for me to understand, but not a big deal if there are solid recs from Spain (assuming Almodovar).

I would prefer something more crime adjacent or at least thriller-esque, but as long as there's tension to a degree that's ideal. Thanks! Also, I understand Portuguese, so I am open to Brazilian cinema, but have seen Cidade de Deus (CIty of God). Thanks for any recs!
