Suggested rework of the Season XP leveling system (by n_slava)

Idea:idea:

This is the translation of a post by n_slava from the RU Forums posted on March 30th as a concept of the XP farming system for the (then) upcoming Act 3.
Original thread here

This post here on Reddit is a translation of his post just so the non-RU audience could see and talk about the concept as well.
Anything below the 5 dashes will be a quote of n_slava's post with no additions or edits on my part
Enjoy the read.

Act 3 Season Pass

The issues it will to address:

Give players the opportunity to earn their well-deserved Pass at any time. This applies to all players - whether you’re a hard worker who can only play on weekends, or a newcomer who started playing midway through the season.

Here’s a proposed weekly system:

The season pass is divided into X-amount of weeks with a soft cap in the form of a waiting period until the next becomes available.

Every week a new well... "Week" opens, each containing 2 gauge of tasks.
First gauge - the primary one, contains 105 tasks.
Second gauge - additional, contains 50 tasks.

The primary bar will be available forever, even until the very end of the season. Meaning that a player playing during the 10th week is able to complete all the previous weeks.
The additional bar is only available during IT'S OWN WEEK. Meaning that the above-mentioned example player would not be able to fill the gauge of additional XP.

And the best part about this system is that you’ll have “Weeks” all the way until the end of the season, so there’s a soft cap that players can’t physically exceed, but they also have the option to farm the pass at any time during the season.
Couldn't play the whole week? - No big deal, no one's taking your experience away; you can always farm it back.
Just started playing toward the end of the season? - That's not a problem either! If you're ready to grind, you'll be able to earn your seasonal points.
So now I’d like to ask the esteemed Vorex__ to respond: you always say that we need to consider the benefits for BOTH sides, so could you please explain what, exactly, is NOT in the company’s best interest in this concept for Act 3 pass?

According to my calculations here's what we got, I set the number of weeks to 13.
105 tasks essentially amounts to completing 15 tasks per day. (38,500 XP)
After completing the 105 tasks (the main set, so to speak), the bonus gauge opens up, which is equivalent to 46 dailies in terms of points (18,550 XP).
And essentially, this bonus gauge is the way to unlock the Style without spending real money.

Table of tasks:

The existing weekly bonus for completing 100 tasks is untouched.

This is where the quote of n_slava's post ends

Before the rework concept he also talked about he upsides and downsides of the Act 1's and Act 2's XP farming systems but we already know what those would be so I omitted that conversation.

Now coming back to the proposed Act 3 XP rework
He didn't explain the final two images all too well so I'm here to fill-in the gap.

He has split the weekly tasks into stages the same way it is with our dailies.

https://preview.redd.it/pbdkh82mjp9h1.png?width=1635&format=png&auto=webp&s=6bb51ac29bd5cc72ce2ba8d05d0c4a15c27ab470

According to the table, first 35 tasks of the week would land 700XP per task, the 30 tasks after that (36-75) would land 250XP per task, and the final 30 after that (76-105) would get you ~133XP per task so you get 4000XP in total for those 30 tasks.
After that you unlock the bonus gauge of 50 tasks that pays 371XP per task.

All in all, under this proposed system - the XP payout for 105 tasks is the same as if you did 15 tasks every day of the week with the current system (5500x7)
The additional gauge is the same as if you did 46 tasks after the initial 15 every day of the week.
That being (30x75+16x25)x7=18,550
So the total XP per week with the proposed system would be as if you did 61 tasks every day with the current system.
The last image in the post suggests the total amount of XP you get per season if you complete 105 tasks every week and 155 (Including the weekly bonus).

And the 100 task weekly bonus we already have in the game doesn't go anywhere and gives the same 21 levels on top of everything like it does now.

This concept is not perfect however.
He didn't cover what happens if you have already completed 155 tasks that week. What if you are a gigagamer that completes 155 tasks every day under the current system? Are you locked out of gaining XP until next week?
Neither did he mention the fate of Overdrives and how they'd apply under the proposed system.

Either way I think it's worth talking about and working towards, as this system is a lot more humane and open ended. It would let you choose when you want to play the game as well as letting you properly catch up with the current stage of the season if you couldn't play or just started in the middle of one instead of forcing you to play every day and pay to be able to catch up.
